Arctic Bath, Harads
A hotel and restaurant environment shaped by nature
On the banks of the Lule River in Harads lies Arctic Bath – a hotel, spa and restaurant where architecture, nature and Nordic design come together. The distinctive retreat was designed by Bertil Harström and Johan Kauppi and draws inspiration from the area’s long history of timber floating.
Throughout Arctic Bath, natural materials such as wood and stone are paired with a colour palette inspired by the surrounding landscape. The restaurant follows the same expression, where wood-clad walls and soft lighting create a warm contrast to the rugged northern nature outside.
For the restaurant, Stolab has supplied the upholstered Miss Holly chair and Miss Tailor table – two pieces whose soft forms and solid wood character become a natural part of the architecture.

Comfort for long dinners
The generous, embracing backrest of the Miss Holly chair provides both comfort and a distinctive character to the restaurant. Upholstered in a range of earthy tones, the chairs bring variation to the setting while maintaining a cohesive overall palette.
The Miss Tailor tables complement the chairs with their soft lines and rounded details. The natural character of the wood is allowed to take centre stage, connecting beautifully with the ribbed timber walls and the materiality that defines Arctic Bath as a whole.
Together, Miss Holly and Miss Tailor create a warm and inviting setting that works equally well visually and functionally in the restaurant – allowing the food, the architecture and the surrounding nature to remain at the heart of the experience.
