Furniture for a safe and welcoming environment
At Kristinegränd care home in Borås, Stolab furniture has been selected for the communal areas. Here, function, comfort and accessibility come together with a warm and inviting expression – important qualities in spaces designed for everyday life, relaxation and social interaction.
Care environments place particular demands on the functionality and ease of use of furniture. At the same time, it is important to create spaces that feel personal and homelike. At Kristinegränd, the furniture has therefore been carefully selected with both the individual and the overall interior in mind.
The natural warmth of wood and the furniture’s soft forms contribute to a calm and welcoming atmosphere, while thoughtful functions help make everyday life easier for both residents and staff.

Kaprifol – comfort with thoughtful functionality
For the project, the Kaprifol armchair, designed by Bo Armstrong, has been selected with glide wheels. Kaprifol has been developed with great attention to both comfort and ease of use. The armrests provide natural support when sitting down and standing up, while the embracing form creates a comfortable and reassuring place to sit.
The glide wheels make the chair easier to move and add further functionality in an environment where flexibility and accessibility are important aspects of everyday life. In this way, Kaprifol combines practical features with a soft and timeless expression.

An environment centred around people
At Kristinegränd, the aim has been to create welcoming and thoughtfully designed spaces where functional requirements are balanced with a warm and homelike atmosphere. The Prio display cabinet contributes to the overall interior with practical storage while allowing personal objects and decorative details to become a natural part of the room.
Together, the materials, forms and carefully considered details create spaces for both social interaction and quieter moments. The project demonstrates how furniture designed for care environments can meet the practical needs of everyday life without compromising on form and character – contributing to an environment where people are always at the centre.
