About Stolab

A Passion for Wood Since 1907

At Stolab, we create solid wood furniture with soul, character, and lasting durability. Our design is contemporary yet timeless, where quality and functionality ensure that each piece becomes even more beautiful with age — made to live with, use, and pass on.

Since 1907, we have crafted our furniture in Smålandsstenar, where traditional craftsmanship meets modern production. This is where knowledge, craftsmanship, and a passion for wood come together under one roof. By keeping design, manufacturing, and assembly in the same place, we maintain full control over every detail and ensure the high quality and durability that define Stolab.

Yngve Ekström

Yngve Ekström is one of Sweden’s most influential furniture designers and an important part of Stolab’s design history. Deeply rooted in the Småland furniture-making tradition, he combined function and craftsmanship with a profound understanding of the possibilities of wood.

For Stolab, he designed several pieces, including Småland, Palle Pall, Pinnockio and Arka – furniture characterised by carefully considered constructions, soft forms and a timeless expression. Several of his designs are still produced at our factory in Smålandsstenar today, carrying his design legacy forward to new generations.
