Architect, sculptor and designer Yngve Ekström was an outstanding representative of the light Scandinavian design language that defined much of the 20th century. Together with his contemporaries, he created new, lightweight bentwood furniture with a timeless elegance. Many of these designs have since become classics.

Yngve had a remarkable ability to combine simplicity with lightness, and function with beauty. A true multi-talented creative, he also designed logos, advertisements and catalogues, and often photographed his own work.
