Marie-Louise Hellgren is a Swedish designer with a strong interest in materials, function and sustainability. Her work is characterised by a curious approach, allowing existing resources to inspire new ideas and expressions.

For Stolab, Marie-Louise Hellgren designed Lilla Snåland – a stool created from the offcuts generated during the production of Lilla Åland. By making use of material that might otherwise go to waste, the solid wood is given new life in an entirely new piece of furniture.

The result is a functional stool with a distinctive character, bringing together Småland resourcefulness, craftsmanship and thoughtful design – a small piece of furniture with a big idea behind it.
